Disgraceful! BT change their Business Broadband terms and conditions._

This morning I received an email from BT Business Broadband informing me of some changes to their terms and conditions.  Pretty typical email that most people would ignore.  For some reason I decided to read it and now I’m fuming!

We are writing to advise that we have recently updated our contract for BT Business Total Broadband. As an existing BT broadband customer you don’t need to take any specific action but we would like to draw your attention to the following:

  • We will no longer automatically email you of future changes to our terms and conditions (Service Schedule for BT Business Broadband Access Service, paragraph 5.23), but all changes will be reflected online in our Business Broadband terms and conditions.
  • So, they are changing their T&Cs so that they can make any future changes without telling you.  Instead, you are expected to check their website every 5 minutes just in case they sneak a change in.

I cannot imagine that being legal for retail consumers and it’s not a good way to treat your business customers.

Grrr!  Guess I may be shopping around when my contract expires…
