Gertie has been ticking and rattling a bit. Probably due a service (time wise, not mileage – still 5k+ to go according to the trip) have it checked then.
Until this afternoon. At speed on the dual carriageway, much more noise. Things dropping off, bang, crash.
The tray on the bottom of the engine bay is no longer completely connected to the rest of the car. What is it with these things? Just about every car I’ve had with one of these trays has ended up with cable ties as the bolt holes rot away.
That does it, booking in for a service tomorrow. I have a niggling suspicion with the ticking, comes from too much forum reading…
