What’s the point of having a Tourer if you don’t go touring? The trouble with an ever expanding family is luggage space, so we need a dreaded roofbox. And for a roofbox, we need roof rails (or coffin rails as I’m sure we used to call them, when Tourers were estates).
Thanks to our friends at MGOC Spares, a full kit of rails, bolts and brackets were promptly delivered.
Nice and simple to fit: remove the six blanks from the roof and bolt a bracket in place of each one. Pop the rails on, two bolts to each bracket. One tip – if you’re of similar size to me (i.e. not tall), the easiest way to reach the bolts and compress the rubber feet on the rails is to sit on them. Just mind your balance!
