Back from holiday and a call from CCK. She’s fixed.
On stripping down the rear carb they found that the little bimetal strip that adjusts the needle depending on temperature was curling, instead of bending. As soon as she got hot she started to misfire.
It seems she doesn’t like the Filter King either, so that hsas been removed and I will have to work on a different fuel filter.
They have completed about 100 miles of road tests, so confidence levels are high. Come Saturday, I’ll find out the truth for myself.
They have also fixed the electric window, which was unexpected. First it was a broken wire connection to the motor, then the connection to the limit switch went and finally the fuse blew. But it’s sorted now, so that’s a job for me avoided.
